Joseph A. (Joe) Schomaker received his Ph.D. in Physical Organic/Polymer Chemistry under the direction of Prof. Laren Tolbert at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He retired after a 30-year industrial career that included stints at Dow Chemical, DowPharma, Applied Biosystems, EraGen Biosciences, and Spectrum Brands. Joe also devoted several years to teaching General and Organic Chemistry as an adjunct faculty member at Saginaw Valley State University and Diablo Valley College. He is currently an Honorary Fellow in the Department of Chemistry and is helping the Schomaker Group as Lab Manager, much to Jen’s delight.
